Prayer Pointers for Loving Our Neighbors Better

1_Corinthians_13_4

This month we are focusing on “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:39)

We invite you to take one prayer request each day as marked and pray over it repeatedly that day. We also suggest you look up the Bible verses for further understanding in prayer.

Monday: Pray that you will never give up on your neighbor; that that you will care more for neighbor than for yourself. (1 Corinthians 13.4)

Tuesday: Pray that you will be patient and kind with your neighbor; that you won’t be jealous or boastful or proud with them. (1 Corinthians 13:4)

Wednesday: Pray that you will not demand your own way when it comes to your neighbor; or that you are not irritable with them, and that you keep no record of being wronged by your neighbor. (1 Corinthians 13:5)

Thursday: Pray that you will not rejoice about injustice done to your neighbor but rejoice whenever the truth wins out for them. (1 Corinthians 13:6)

Friday: Pray that you will never give up, never lose faith, always be hopeful, and always endure through every circumstance with your neighbor. (1 Corinthians 13:7)

Prayer points are adapted from 1 Corinthians 13.4-7, New Living Translation

Prayer Pointers for Knowing God Better! (2)

prayer 4

This month we are focusing on “loving God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.” (Mark 12.30) We invite you to take one prayer request each day as marked and pray over it repeatedly that day. We also suggest you look up the Bible verses for further understanding in prayer.

Monday: Since God is Spirit and exists as a being that is not made of any matter, in your prayers rejoice in that He desires and chooses to know you personally and intimately. (John 4.24; Romans 8.16; 1 Corinthians 6.17; 14.14; Philippians 3.3)

Tuesday: Since God is invisible and His total being will never be able to be seen by us, thrill in the fact that God chooses ways and means to communicate with us, like prayer. (Genesis 18.1-33; 32.28-30; Exodus 12.21-22; Judges 13.21-22; Isaiah 6.1; John 14.9; Colossians 1.15)

Wednesday: Since God knows all things actual and possible; take the time to seek His wisdom and knowledge through prayer for any situation you are in and any time. (1 John 3.20; 1 Corinthians 2.10-11; Hebrews 4.13; Psalm 139; James 1.5-6)

Thursday: Since God always chooses the best goals and the best means to those goals for our lives, follow God’s directions in the Bible and cooperate with Him in prayer. (Romans 11.33; 16.27; Job 9.4; 12.13; Psalm 104.24; 111.10; Ephesians 3.10)

Friday: Since God is truthful, he is the true God and all of his knowledge and words are both true and the final standard of truth, therefore reaffirm that you can trust His commands and depend on what He says as you pray. (Jeremiah 10.10-11; John 17.3; 1 John 5.20; Job 37.16)

Monday: Ask God to show himself to you, to make himself real to you. (Romans 1.19; Matthew 11.27)

Tuesday: Ask God to help you grasp some of his greatness (Psalm 145.3), his understanding (147.5), his knowledge (139.6) and his riches, wisdom, judgments and ways (Romans 11.33) even though they are beyond our ability to understand fully.

Wednesday: Thank God for the ability to increase in your knowledge of God and to delight in him more and more as we learn about God’s own thoughts (Psalm 139.17-18)

Thursday: Thank God that we can know that God is true and that he is love (1 John 4.8), that he is light (1.5), that he is spirit (John 4.24) and that he is just and righteous (Romans 3.26).

Friday: Ask God to grow in your knowledge of him, more deeply each day so that you can know him personally and understand how he practices steadfast love, justice and righteousness on the earth (Jeremiah 9.23-24).
