Transformation is the ‘end-game’ of all of God’s work … to be made into the image of Jesus Christ, His Son is both God’s deepest desire and goal for our lives.

As Dutch Sheets explains in his book, The River of God, “though true repentance and turning bring forgiveness, God’s goal is much loftier than this. He’s shooting for transformation. When we receive revelation from Him, enabling us to see our conditions from His perspective, this unveiling also reveals His grace and redemption to us. We see our need, but we also see His provision. The exposing and humbling of self with the counteraction of God being exalted allows the release of grace. His grace than empowers and enables us to effectively “turn and go the other way.”

Have you ever run out of gas? So many of us have! It seems we love to test the limits of our car’s gas tank! When we do, we miss all sorts of opportunities in life because we are either waiting for someone to bring us more gas, or we are walking to the nearest station to fill up our gas can. Life is lost when our tank runs out!

In the final analysis, many of us are spiritually running on empty every day. And the reality is, lives are lost when our spiritual tank runs out! We miss so many of God’s opportunities to share the wonderful works of God because we are testing the limits of our spiritual tanks!

Dr. Joe Stowell on Transformational Leadership!

The Board of Trustees of Cornerstone University announced the appointment of Dr. Joseph M. Stowell as its 11th president recently. After an extensive search, the Board unanimously and enthusiastically affirmed the selection of Dr. Stowell at their annual board meeting on Jan. 26, 2008.

Dr. Matthew Lee Smith of Eagles In Leadership met up with Dr. Stowell in Universal City, CA on January 31st and talked about transformational leadership, his new position and the importance of seeking Christ in ministry.

Dr. Stowell has been, until this appointment, teaching pastor at Harvest Bible Chapel in suburban Chicago. Dr. Stowell served for eighteen years as the president of Moody Bible Institute. Recently he began partnering with RBC Ministries in radio, writing, and television productions.
